Player Development Academys - April-July 2018 - Worcester University - Under 10 - Under 11

Please be aware that this Player Development Academy is INVITE ONLY.

The Albion Foundation aims to provide a high quality of coaching via structured sessions, whilst maintaining a positive learning environment for all players participating within our Player Development Centres and Player Development Academy within the Black Country. Our key aim is to develop the players technically, tactically, physically, psychologically and socially through sessions that mirror the West Bromwich Albion FC Curriculum.

Player Development Centres provide players with a potential entry into Elite and professional football environments, as well as an exit route for those not quite ready to make the step up. The Player Development Academy is a key link with West Bromwich Albion FC’s Academy, identifying elite talent and progressing them through the club’s player pathway. We aim to provide players with a core skill set and capabilities to cope with the demands of Elite football.

Our Player Development Academies (PDA’s) are designed to accommodate the more elite players within our Player Development Centres (PDC’s) therefore they are invite only sessions and you are NOT able to just sign up or come along. These sessions specifically mirror the WBA FC Academy Foundation Phase (Under 9’s-11’s) following the same topics, structure and core unopposed sessions.

The PDA based in Birmingham/Sandwell/Black Country is a two-hour session that copies the training structure of the Under 9-11 players at WBA FC Academy. This PDA is available for Under 9, Under 10 and Under 11 players.

The PDA’s based in Worcester and Bromsgrove are both one hour sessions that copies the training structure of the Under 9-11 players at WBA FC Academy. These PDA’s are available for Under 7, Under 8, Under 9, Under 10, Under 11 and Under 12 players.

The sessions have a key technical focus that mirrors the WBA FC Academy curriculum, designed by the Academy Manager, whilst aiming to develop the children holistically. Players are guaranteed to participate in coaching sessions that will include unopposed and opposed technical work, game related practices, whilst applying these skills in small sided games.

Players that are showing outstanding ability or potential have the possibility to be referred to WBA FC Talent ID programme/Academy Trials. This will be at the lead coach’s discretion and parents will be advised of the next steps individually.

The PDA sessions available to players of this age group are available at the venues listed below.
