The Albion Foundation's Big Sleepout

The Albion Foundation is delighted to announce their first ever “Sleep Out, with the aim of supporting homelessness in our local community in partnership with Sandwell Council and their Change Into Action network.

We are all too aware of how challenging recent times have become. As a community, there are still those less fortunate sleeping rough. On Friday, April 29th we invite supporters to experience spending a night under the stars in the stands and concourse of the Hawthorns.

Jonathan Ward, Head of Partnerships, Events & Communications at The Albion Foundation said: "The sleep out is going to be a really important event raising awareness of the homeless and vulnerable within our local community.

"This is just the start of a longer-term project between The Albion Foundation, West Bromwich Albion Football Club, Sandwell Council and the Change into Action Network. We encourage everyone to support the Sleep Out and join us in raising funds for this important cause."

Karl Robinson of Sandwell Council, “We do not want anyone to have to sleep rough in Sandwell and have a team that will respond to any reports of people sleeping rough within the same day. We will always offer emergency accommodation for the same night and will work with the individual to come up with a plan to meet their needs. This includes working with them around income, mental health, physical health, and substance misuse issues. The Sleep Out is a great opportunity for us to raise awareness within the community and help insure no one is sleeping rough”

The cost of registration is £20 per person, and you will be required to raise a minimum of £100 to take part. This will enable The Albion Foundation to continue their fantastic work in the community, following on from the 110,000 meals that were provided to local people during the height of the pandemic and towards insuring no one sleeps rough within Sandwell.

(If you are taking part as a family, please email events@albionfoundation.co.uk to discuss your fundraising amounts)

There will be plenty of camaraderie and entertainment throughout the evening, with hot drinks on offer throughout the night. We look forward to welcoming you to The Hawthorns!
