What is Walking Football?
Walking football is a modified version of the traditional game, designed for people of all fitness levels. The key rule is that no running is allowed! It’s a great way to enjoy the social and physical benefits of football without putting undue strain on the body. You’ll be able to move at your own pace, while still enjoying the camaraderie of the game.
Benefits of Walking Football & Staying Active with Cancer
Boosts Physical Health: Gentle exercise improves cardiovascular health, strength, and flexibility, all at a pace that suits your body.
Enhances Mental Well-being: Physical activity triggers the release of endorphins, which can help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression.
Promotes Social Interaction: Meet others who understand what you're going through in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Maintains Strength During Treatment: Staying active during cancer treatment can help improve your energy levels, reduce fatigue, and assist with a quicker recovery.
Prevents Decline in Physical Health: Keeping up with regular movement can help prevent the physical decline that can sometimes come with illness or treatment.
